Caribbean Stud Poker is an exciting casino game, where you can win big while having tons of fun. Before we give you the winning tips and strategy, an introduction to the game is in order. Always keep in mind that in Caribbean Stud you’re only playing against the dealer, so the other players’ strategy doesn’t need to concern you.
You place your bet on the Ante box. In addition, you may place a $1 bet as a Progressive bet. In case of a flush, full house, four-of-a-kind, straight flush or royal flush, your $1 Progressive bet gets you even more money. Ask your dealer about the allowed amount of money, since it changes for every casino. Also, the chances of being dealt the aforementioned hands are low, so the decision of whether to place the Progressive bet is only up to you.
Once the bets are made, the dealer and the players are dealt 5 cards. Dealer’s cards are laid face down except for one, while all players’ cards are dealt face down. At this point you need to simply look at your hand and at the dealer’s single exposed card and make a decision whether or not you have a poker hand that ranks higher than the dealer’s. If you don’t even have a pair, just fold by putting the cards down on the table. You lose your Progressive and Ante bets, and that’s it for this round.
If, however, you believe that your pair, two pairs three of a kind or straight can be played against dealer’s hand, place another bet in the Bet box, twice the size of the Ante.
Once all the players have folded or place an additional bet, the dealer’s hand is shown. However, beating dealer’s hand is not enough. His hand must be at least AK high, otherwise he simply folds. If the dealer folds, only your Ante is doubled in your favor, while your Bet is just returned to you. For example, your Ante is $5 and your Bet is $10. In this scenario, you get back 2*$5 + $10 = $20.
If his hand is at least AK high, then both of your hand are compared, just like in the regular poker. If yours beats his, your Ante is doubled for you, while your additional Bet pays off according to your hand’s strength and the following table:
And of course, if your hand is beat, all your bets are lost. The only exception is the Progressive bet mentioned above. A flush, full house, four-of-a-kind, straight flush or royal flush win you the progressive jackpot, regardless of whether you beat the dealer.
